Adult Category Winner: Trevor Poile, Tree by Allotments.
Gary Francis commented: “Very atmospheric, beautifully composed and almost monochromatic. A stunning image”.
Adult Category Runner Up: Patricia Rendall, Southborough Fountain Bus Shelter.
Gary Francis said: “I always like to see items framed within a frame in photos and this one is given additional interest by the foreground daffodils, which appear to knit themselves in to a pattern”.
Adult Category Highly Commended: Trevor Poile, War Memorial.
Gary Francis: “I highly commend Trevor Poile’s War Memorial photo, it is a very clever composition”.
Junior Category Winner: Freddie Knight, St Peter’s Church Tower.
Gary Francis: “I have chosen this because it breaks quite a few photography rules including converging verticals, but that is what makes it a dramatic picture, plus the idea of the tower pointing towards the heavens. The texture and shape of the bricks adds to its composition”.
Junior Category Runner Up: Amy Chatfield, David Salomons Lake.
Gary Francis: “This photograph beautifully shows the reflection in the still water and a vibrant blue colour. Had the photographer been able to control the exposure a bit more, I would have liked to have seen the top half of the image slightly darker, as it is a bit over exposed, even so, it is still a great image”.
