Welcome to the Southborough Society Archive

The digitisation of our archive has been made possible by the Heritage Lottery Fund, awarded in 2017 as part of the wider grant with the ‘Secrets of Southborough Common’. We would like to thank them for their support; without it this project would not have been possible.

The digital archive was initiated by Michael Howes, Ian Kinghorn and Olwyn Kinghorn in early 2017. Going forward the project has been undertaken by Diana Blackwell and Brian Hall.

The digitisation project enables people in our community and beyond to not only access our unique history but to contribute to it. We would like to encourage people to get in touch if they hold any items of interest that could be shared on our archive.

We hope you find the archive engaging, useful and informative. We would love to hear from you if you have any feedback or would like to get involved by volunteering some time to support the ongoing archiving process.

Do you have material to add to the archive?

Please get in contact and tell us about your items of interest. If you are happy to lend us your items for a short period of time, we can scan, document and upload them to add to the archive. We really value the contributions from our members and the public as this will create a much richer archive for all to see.
