Photographic Competition

'Through the Lens'

 The Southborough Society invites photographers of all ages to submit their strongest images which they feel successfully record an aspect of Southborough life. The subject matter may include people, places, buildings, landscapes, events or wildlife.

The only stipulation is that images must clearly show a visually identifiable connection with Southborough or High Brooms.

Below are some more examples of successful entrants work to our annual competition.

Who can enter?

Anyone can enter and you do not have to be a member of the Southborough Society. The only rules are that the photograph must have been taken in Southborough or High Brooms between 1st of November, 2022 and 30th of September, 2023.

There are two categories:

Student (Under 16 years of age)

Adult (Over 16 years of age)

How do I enter?

Simply send in your images to us at southsocphotocomp@gmail.com along with your name, contact number, email and for student category entrants, please include your age.

Alternatively, for those more analogue minded, you can print and post your photograph with the above details to Ian Kinghorn, 5 West Park Avenue, Southborough, TN4 0QP by the 31st October, 2023.

OWNERSHIP OF IMAGES

All images entered will become property of the Southborough Society and entrants therefore agree to allow the Society to display and/or reproduce the prints for its own purposes without charge. The photographs will be displayed on the Southborough Society website showing details of the entrant, the category entered and the location of the photograph.

JUDGING

Judging of the images will be undertaken by the Chief Photographer from The Courier newspaper.

PRIZES

A cash prize will be awarded to the winner and runner up from each of the two categories; £50 for the winners and £30 for the runners up in each of the two categories.

NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS

Winners will be notified via telephone or email in November, 2023.
